Although the “Mass Effect” creators from BioWare just a few days ago the expectations of the fans N7 Day 2024 had throttled down, a bomb exploded this evening! Based on an exclusive report from the reliable industry magazine Variety A series adaptation of the sci-fi epic is currently in the works. Below we summarize the first information about the upcoming video game film adaptation for you.
If we are to believe the report, Amazon MGM Studios is currently working on a live-action series based on the Mass Effect video games. Daniel Casey is primarily responsible for the adaptation of the popular action-RPG series, who is the screenwriter and executive producer of the science fiction show. Casey's previous screenwriting credits include “10 Cloverfield Lane,” “Kin,” and the action film “Fast & Furious 9.”
Story details still under wraps
Daniel Casey will be assisted by, among others, Karim Zreik (“Marvel's Daredevil”) from Cedar Tree Productions, who also serves as executive producer. Industry veteran Ari Arad, who has previously worked as a producer on “Iron Man” and “Uncharted”, is also on board. Last but not least, we should mention Michael Gamble, who works as a project director at BioWare and is working on the series for Electronic Arts.
What the “Mass Effect” series from Amazon MGM Studios will be about is still unknown at this point. According to Variety, plot details for the live-action series are still being kept under wraps. Time will tell whether fans of the game series can look forward to a retelling of the well-known story about Commander Shepard and his crew or possibly a completely new story.
Rumors about a series adaptation of “Mass Effect” have been circulating for years. For example, in mid-2021 we received news that the streaming service was Netflix on an animated series based on the video game series. Reports that have so far not come true. Towards the end of 2021, a report circulated that Amazon was shortly before Closing a deal to a series implementation of the popular sci-fi role-playing games.
