Spike Chunsoft is releasing an open world dinosaur survival action game for PS5 called “ARK: Survival Ascended”, we have released a free update that adds the desert and wilderness themed map “Scorched Earth”. In addition, a season pass that includes 3 types of DLC “ARK: Bob's Tall Tales' was also released.
The three types of DLC are expansion packs that implement special dinosaurs, items, skins, etc. for additional maps.First DLC “Frontier Showdown”has implemented new elements regarding the map “Scorched Earth”,PS storeDistribution starts today at 3,981 yen (tax included). The second DLC will be released in winter 2024, and the third DLC will be released in spring 2025.

In order to give priority to simultaneous worldwide distribution, some parts of “ARK: Bob's Tall Tales” and “Scorched Earth” are not available for Japanese localization as of today. Japanese support will be implemented in a later update.

“Scorched Earth” is an additional map set in a vast desert and wasteland. Players will be challenged by a harsher environment, including creatures that have evolved uniquely to adapt to the environment, scarce resources, and a climate with large temperature differences between day and night. In addition to creatures such as the “Deathworm,'' a giant centipede-like creature that lives in the desert, and the “Morelatops,'' a large herbivorous dinosaur with a large hump, a new dinosaur with strong jaws “Fasolasuchus'' will also appear.

When you introduce “Frontier Showdown”, a gigantic creature “Oasisaurus” that can build on its back will appear. Oasisaurus can fly, and on its back there is soil where crops can grow well and a spring that can heal and revive living things. We will also implement new elements such as a “locomotive'' that runs through the wilderness, a “shovel'' that can be used to dig and bury treasure, and cowboy/cowgirl skins.
