Appointment, live stream and also something for PlayStation players

Microsoft has officially announced a date for this year's Xbox Games Showcase. This is followed by a show about a game that is obviously the next “Call of Duty”.

There will be no Electronic Entertainment Expo this year. However, all sorts of digital events will take place during the usual period of the trade fair, several of which are under the label Summer Game Fest run.

Xbox is also represented with its own show. And it is now clear when the Xbox Games Showcase will be broadcast. This will be followed by a “Redacted” show.

Xbox Games Showcase on June 9, 2024

According to today's date announcement, the Xbox Games Showcase will take place on June 9, 2024. The time is also fixed. In this country it starts at 7 p.m.

After the showcase there will be a live broadcast, which Microsoft calls “Redacted”. It is fairly certain that the focus will be on the upcoming “Call of Duty” game, but the name will not be mentioned yet.

The accompanying graphics also give the impression that it is an Activision game. The redaction was done in a way that provides enough clues.

“We'll be sharing a special look at the next installment of a beloved franchise,” reads a post on Xbox Wire announcing the event. And as we know, the series remains on the PlayStation consoles.

The double stream, which, among other things, is on YouTube and Twitch According to Xbox, it kicks off a week in which the Xbox Wire and the official Xbox Podcast will focus on comprehensive reporting with updates and detailed information on various games.

What's on offer during the Xbox Games Showcase?

Microsoft initially did not mention games by name. However, there are some hot candidates on hand. It will be the first showcase in which Microsoft would like to present games from the portfolio of Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios as well as titles from third parties.

Xbox Game Studios' upcoming Xbox Series Clockwork Revolution” by inXile, “State of Decay 3” by Undead Labs and “Avowed” and “The Outer Wilds 2” by Obsidian Entertainment.

“Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred” and “World of Warcraft: The War Within” will also be presented in more detail this year. The same applies to “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” and the DLC “Starfield Shattered Space”. It remains to be seen what will be shown in the showcase. Due to the Redmond-based company's new direction, some games are likely to end up on PlayStation consoles sooner or later.
