Apple sues NSO Group

Apple has so far not said much about the uprising surrounding the spyware program Pegasus, which is being developed by the NSO Group and is used by authorities in various countries to spy on citizens via their Iphone.

Instead, the company has quietly prepared a lawsuit against NSO Group and its parent company Q Cyber, which has now been filed in the Northern California District Court.

The aim of the lawsuit is to ban the NSO Group from using Apple products and services, including Apple ID and Imessage – the attacks on journalists, activists and others who have been documented have begun with an Imessage message.

In a press release, Apple writes that the company will announce all users who may have been targets of the Forcedentry attack. In the future, Apple will always notify users if the company sees signs of an attack with state-sponsored spyware.
