Apple introduces new Rainbow Series for 2024, featuring watch straps, watch faces, and dynamic wallpapers

Gamingdeputy reported on May 6 that Gamingdeputy learned from Apple’s official website that in order to support the global movement to protect and promote equality for the LGBTQ+ community, Apple announced the launch of a new Apple Watch rainbow version woven single-turn strap, matching dial, and updates iOS and iPadOS wallpaper. The straps will be available for order starting on May 22, and the watch faces and wallpapers will be launched with the recently released software update. For the first time, rainbow dials and wallpapers will offer customization options, using a range of colors to highlight the vitality and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.

Apple said it is proud to continue to support LGBTQ+ rights advocacy organizations and lead positive change through this rainbow series. These organizations include ILGA World, a global alliance dedicated to promoting the rights of LGBTQ+ people around the world, and the Human Rights Campaign, a global advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring full and equal citizenship treatment for all LGBTQ+ people. Other advocacy organizations supported by Apple include Encircle, Equality North Carolina, Equality Texas, GLSEN, Equality Federation, National Center for Transgender Equality, PFLAG, SMYAL and The Trevor Project.

According to Apple,The new Rainbow Edition woven single-turn strap draws design inspiration from various rainbow flags, symbolizing the power and beauty of LGBTQ+ through a bright fluorescent color design, with the words “PRIDE 2024” laser-etched on the buckle. Black and brown represent Black, Hispanic and Latino communities, as well as those affected by HIV/AIDS; pink, light blue and white represent transgender and non-binary people.

New Pride Radiance watch faces and iOS and iPadOS wallpapers for Apple Watch,iPhone and iPad bring bright, symbolic colors. The rays of light on a dark background represent the hope, strength and unity of the LGBTQ+ community, and these rays of light are layered on top of each other to represent the lasting impact of LGBTQ+ activism and its important role in lighting the path to a more equal world for future generations.Users can choose from a variety of colors to create personalized watch faces and wallpapers. On Apple Watch, these colors outline each number on the dial and change in real time based on gyroscope input data, following the user's wrist movements. On iPhone and iPad, colored lights spell out the word “Pride” and dynamically change when the user unlocks the device. The new Pride Radiance watch faces and iPhone and iPad wallpapers will be launched soon with watchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5.
