Anvil Empires – The MMORPG Anvil Empires prepares its next “major test”

The massively multiplayer medieval simulation Anvil Empires will be the subject of a new major test starting April 18, this time aiming to test PvP and several new features. Registrations are open.

Like its predecessor Foxhole from the same studio Headquarters Camp, Anvil Empires displays very high ambitions: to immerse cohorts of players in a medieval world to be gradually colonized, in which each individual player will have a role to play within the community – some to ensure the proper functioning of society, build villages, feeding the population, producing resources or running the economy, the others as soldiers to protect their city against the hostile cities of other players.

All the game mechanics of Anvil Empires are complex and intertwined, making it necessary to regularly organize testing phases in real conditions – even on very early versions of the game. This is why the Foxhole studio organizes regular minor and major testing phases of Anvil Empires pre-alpha. And this April 18 from 7 p.m. (Paris time), Foxhole will give the kickoff of a new “major test” (the servers will be accessible for four days), this time aimed at testing the basics of PvP.

A test with new features

Testers should expect to be confronted with buses and malfunctions (identifying them is precisely the purpose of testing, in order to correct them), but will also be able to discover all the latest additions of “phase 5” of the pre-alpha .

Among other new features, testers will discover the “property” system. Concretely, players will be able to build their own property (buildings and objects) within a camp and these properties are owned by a family, a group of players who have chosen to come together to cooperate, build together or share resources. Each player has an assigned role within a family to contribute to the management of property common. And like the properties are also linked to a camp, families also contribute to community life by having access to “ heart of the camp », a public area accessible to all families in the camp where it is possible to build a walk where to sell items to other players.

The test will also be marked by the addition of first flying creatures in the game universe – of the Saying Ravens (fearsome crows, presented as dangerous creatures). These birds can be hostile and attack players. This is notable in that these crows gather in particular near “deadwood trees”, special particularly strong trees, useful for making bows. Crows will be a good way to spot these trees from a long distance, but players who want to harvest their wood will obviously need to be well prepared and ready to face the crows. THE system of seasons and climatic events already presented previously will also be activated during the test.

For the curious, registrations for the next “major test” of Anvil Empires are open on Steam (via the “request access” button). As a reminder, registrations open and close from time to time depending on the tests and the needs of testers.
