Just as Motorola has long been a leading developer of mobile phones, Pantone is an institution in design when it comes to the choice of colors. Through an exclusive collaboration, both knowledge and experience are woven together into unique products that stand out – both in terms of performance and appearance.

– At Motorola, we are proud of our exclusive partnership with Pantone, says Oscar Fernandez Thunström, Norden Manager at Motorola and says that Motorola works very strategically with Pantone to choose colors for the various products they offer.

As much as Motorola believes in the mobile phones as a way to tie people together, they also believe in the power of colors. In both cases, these are ways of expressing themselves and about communication. For colors is not just something that enhances the experience of a product – they are also an expression of emotions.

“Color and design are important to us at Motorola,” says Stine Jespersen, marketing manager at Motorola in the Nordic countries.

– Especially important for us is to enable our users to highlight their own personality and their own style. There, the partnership with Pantone is an important building block, she continues.

This is the background to Motorola's exclusive collaboration with Pantone, the world's leading institution for colors and the creator of a standardized system for it. Pantone Matching System has long been a yardstick in design, architecture and printed matter. But even products, where the choice of color plays an important role for both the appearance and the experience.

As the only mobile phone manufacturer in the world with this partnership, Motorola can use the overall experience and expertise of Pantone's color scientist. Together with Motorola's engineers and designers, technically groundbreaking products are created packed in the latest color trends. The collaboration also gives Motorola exclusive right to launch products that use Pantone's official colors. Including the prestigious “Color of the Year”, which since 1999 is appointed every year by Pantone's color experts as a color that reflects trends and developments in society.

This year's election is called Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, where the latter part of the name says everything. The light brown color is soft and warm with the same tones found in a cup of chocolate or the shade that occurs when a cup of foamed milk is mixed with a smoking hot espresso.

– Mocha Mousse emphasizes the importance of enjoying the moment – a reminder to appreciate life's simple pleasures. Mocha Mousse also inspired us to create a new surface material to some extent created by coffee sump. Its warm and pleasant essence embodied the sensory nature of this shade and encouraged users to take care of themselves and enjoy life's simple entertainment, says Ruben Castano, who is responsible for customer experiences and design at Motorola.

As a result of the collaboration comes Motorola Edge 50 Neo and Motorola Razr 50 Ultra in Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse. EDGE 50 NEO was already offered before in four different colors, which were also developed within Motorola's long -term partnership with Pantone. So now in yet another, exclusive color that stands for moments of joy in everyday life and the feeling of stopping and between chores and jobs. With that comes the model, which has been developed to cope with tough grip during all the day's activities with a battery that lasts for up to 34 hours and can be charged in only 11 minutes with turboharge, with both stylish and durable design.

– We used Mocha Mousse on two different devices because this color is incredibly versatile and stylish. It gives our customers more options for contact, joy and expressing themselves. We are extremely proud of the products that carry the Pantone Color of the Year 2025 and our long -standing strategic partnership with Pantone, says Ruben Castano.

The collaboration between Motorola and Pantone also extends to how colors are experienced when the phone is used. As the world's first smart phone, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo comes with Pantone ™ Validated screen and a camera that is Pantone Skintone ™ Validated. It provides unique features to both show and capture the colors around us by setting a new standard for color reproduction. After careful development and rigorous tests according to strict grading criteria, Pantone Skintone ™ guarantees that the phone's screen shows the entire spectrum of colors according to Pantone's standardized and industry -leading systems. Simply put: Motorola Edge 50 Neo shows the world in all its color splendor it actually looks.

Equal focus has been placed on the development of the camera at the Motorola Edge 50 Neo. With Pantone Skintone ™, it is guaranteed that the main camera with 50 megapixels as well as the lenses for tele and wide angle all delivers natural and real skin tones for anyone who is perpetuated.

The collaboration between Motorola and Pantone thus sets new standards for mobile phone. Both when it comes to technical color performance and the phone's design with a unique, personal style. And a reminder not to forget to enjoy everyday life.
