Anyone who loves retro technology can hardly ignore this Lego model.
The “Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera” from Lego is a detailed replica of the original for your home shelf. You can currently get the set on Amazon for 47.99 euros (view on Amazon). This means you save 40 percent compared to the recommended retail price of 79.99 euros. The model is aimed specifically at adult collectors and anyone who likes to reminisce.
Particularly important: The set will be removed from the Lego range at the end of the year. Lego is already marking it as a “last chance” (view at Lego). The price can then rise significantly on the used market.
We like that about the Lego camera
- + Detailed design
- + High nostalgia factor
We don’t like this:
- – Only three plastic images included
- – Don’t take real photos
The Lego set consists of 516 shares and recreates the iconic shape of the instant camera. The special features include the typical viewfinder, the color spectrum on the front and the rotary dial for exposure compensation. The feel is also very much based on the model.
The Lego camera cannot take pictures, but it still has a mechanical function. You put one of the three enclosed pictures into the slot of the camera. When you press the red shutter button, the photo is ejected – almost like the real Polaroid. The three pictures show the inventor Edwin H. Land, the Lego house in Denmark and the fan designer’s sister. The set was created as part of the Ideas series, in which suggestions from the community are implemented.
This is what buyers say about the Lego Polaroid camera
With average 4.7 out of 5 stars With over 1,200 reviews, the set is very well received. Many people praise the construction process and the look on the shelf. It is criticized that the mechanism could be described a little better in the instructions. Overall, Amazon customers are satisfied. A user writes:

Who is the Lego set on Amazon worth for?
This set is ideal for anyone who likes to remember a time when taking photos had nothing to do with smartphones. Anyone who likes to build and wants to put a stylish display model on their shelf will be happy here. It is not a toy for small children, but an exhibition piece with a nice gimmick.
