After over a decade, a psychedelic FPS makes a comeback with an exclusive collector’s edition

Nanardise bloated with testosterone

Remember, a little over 10 years ago, Ubisoft Montreal treated itself to a huge, unbridled frenzy with Far Cry Blood Dragon. Full of references and largely inspired by the popular culture of the 1980s, it offered an explosive cocktail of action and humor to be taken to the 28th degree. His stupid lines and his new wave vision of the future hit the mark with players who praised his controlled falsely nerdy appearance.

Described as a testosterone-bloated nanardise in our lines, he was able to deliver the effective gameplay of Far Cry 3 in a hilarious universe. Here, there is no question of taking yourself seriously, especially since the title also veers into self-parody, making fun of the tutorials or even the advice displayed during the loading screens. While the software could have been definitively put aside, a physical version is arriving and should delight fans of this spin-off.

Collector or nothing!

The specialist in premium physical publishing, Limited Run, will launch its pre-orders so you can get your hands on physical editions of Far Cry Blood Dragon on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Pre-orders will take place between April 19 and May 19, and they will begin to be sent in September 2024. The company behind the physical versions of Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush and Grounded is booking another round from his bag. In addition to the versions “standard” from Blood Dragon sold at $34.99, a collector’s version is also available for all three supportsand it's chock full of goodies.

Distributed at the price of 124.99 dollars, this collector's edition offers a physical copy of Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, a pretty box which serves as a box set, a USB audio cassette (with music from Power Glove), a VHS cassette containing trailers, a Colonel Sloan figure, a Sergeant Rex Colt figure, stickers and a booklet. If you're a big fan of Far Cry 3: Blood Diamond, then you know what you have to do. Hoping you still have an old VCR stashed in the attic.
