After 9 years, fans of The Witcher 3 receive new content

Witcher fans can now officially put their limitless imagination and talent to use in mods as CD Projekt RED has released its official editor. With a bit of luck, you can even test it before the official release.

The Witcher 3: Take on the role of a developer

The official mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available on Steam. If you're interested in testing the program, now might be your chance. Register on Steam for the test phase. Access will be rolled out gradually before full access for all players is expected later this year. However, an exact date has not yet been announced (view it now on Steam).

REDkit, the tool used by the game's developers, offers “almost limitless modding freedom.” Creates new quests, characters, animations and more to make the game “even more exciting and fun for everyone,” according to the developer and publisher.

CD Projekt RED emphasizes that REDkit currently only for PC users is available, both for creating and installing the created mods.

The Witcher 3 was released in 2015, so it's a bit older. Thanks to various expansions and now the official mod editor, the game is constantly being breathed into new life, but fans are still eagerly waiting for the successor.

However, not much is known about this yet. The game is created in collaboration with Epic Games using the Unreal Engine 5which provides new and expanded possibilities – but it may still be years before The Witcher 4 sees the light of day.
