What actually happened to Tiamut? You know: the Celestial that was supposed to emerge from the earth in the grand finale of Eternals, but was then petrified and killed. Since 2021, and thus over three years and seven Marvel films, there has been virtually no trace of Tiamut.
Only the She-Hulk series on Disney Plus at least confirmed that the remains of the Celestial are still floating around in the ocean. Since then, however, many MCU fans have been puzzling over why no one else cares about Tiamut.
Tiamut lives
but still!
That finally changes with Captain America: Brave New Worldwhich will be released in German cinemas on February 12, 2025. In the first trailer for the solo film for Anthony Mackie in the role of Sam Wilson, there are pretty clear indications that the nations of the earth are apparently fighting over Tiamut's petrified corpse.
Various warships of the Japanese and US governments can be seen, while the new Captain America and his sidekick Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) engage in heated dogfights with fighter jets. It's best to just take a look yourself from minute 01:30 a look at it:

Tiamut in the crossfire
Why actually? At this point, we can only speculate. Since Tiamut's gigantic remains border the territories of several nations, several countries could lay claim to it. It may not just be a matter of principle, the nations in question may have a very specific goal in mind.
Thus, inside Tiamut (if it is not made entirely of stone) valuable, extraterrestrial resources waiting to be collected and processed. Something similar has been happening for some time on Knowhere – the severed head of a Celestial in the middle of space from Guardians of the Galaxy, which has even been colonized.
According to popular fan theories (via ScreenRant), for example, there would be a good opportunity to introduce Adamantium into the Marvel Cinematic Universe – the extremely durable metal with which Wolverine's claws and skeleton are coated.
Either way, Marvel fans should definitely be happy that after three years and seven films, a huge (literally) loose thread of the MCU is finally being picked up again. Since Eternals, the following range of new cinema adventures have already been shown on the big screen:
By the way: With Captain America 4, Harrison Ford joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The 82-year-old actor follows in the footsteps of William Hurt, who died in 2022, as Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross. The first trailer for Brave New World teases: Harrison Ford even becomes the Red Hulk!
