Adventure from the makers of Life is Strange appears in two episodes

“Lost Records: Bloom & Rage”, the upcoming narrative adventure game from the “Life is Strange” makers of Don't Nod, will be released in the form of two episodes. One of the game's creators explains the reasons for this decision.

The “Life is Strange” makers of Don’t Nod are currently working the same way on several titles, including the upcoming adventure game “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage”. After it received a new trailer yesterday, we received the news that the development studio would once again focus on releasing it in episodic form. The makers confirmed this in an interview with their colleagues GamesRadar+.

“We provide a natural break, at least at the end of the first episode, where you can reflect on what happened. Even if you want to wait until everything is released and play everything in sequence, you still have that moment of pause during the credits before you start the second part, so you can still think about what happened,” Creative leads Director Michel Koch.

Episode release in memory of Game of Thrones

As Koch then explains, this decision can be traced back to the “Game of Thrones” times to a certain extent. When the dark fantasy hit still aired weekly on HBO, each episode was the big topic of conversation the next day. That's something he and his colleagues miss these days. That's why Don't Nod is hoping to recapture some of that feeling with Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.

The players should use the break between the two episodes of the adventure game to reflect on the events. What's more, they should exchange ideas with each other and come up with theories about how the story could continue. Just like with the studio’s older games, such as “Life is Strange” and “Tell Me Why”.

What is Lost Records: Bloom & Rage about?

In the narrative adventure game “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage” you take on the role of Swann in 1995. She is an introverted girl who loves to capture her life through the lens of her camcorder. During the summer she meets various other people, including the girls Autumn, Kat and Nora. An unforgettable summer full of great moments and big secrets awaits the unlikely quartet.

Although everything seems to start so positively, their young friendship comes to an abrupt end at the end of the summer. After an inexplicable event, Swann, Nora, Kat and Autumn vow that they will never speak to each other again. 27 years later, however, fate would bring the now grown women together again. Now they have to face the events of that time together again.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam). The adventure game is scheduled to be released in 2024. There is currently no exact release date known.
