Advanced Renamer 3.95 [Final] with new icon, new status bar and changes

(Update April 26, 2024): The Advanced Renamer 3.95 has now reached the final version and is available for download. After the 4 “betas” it has now been released. The changes remain as described above. (Thanks everyone for the tip).

(Original April 15, 2024): The Advanced Renamer, a tool for renaming many files in one go using various batch methods, has received an update to version 3.95. The icon for the tool is new and the status bar has also been given a new layout.

The tool can be used free of charge. You can still purchase a key to support development. This is then valid for life. But back to the changes in this version.

  • Changes to EXIF ​​Capture Date metadata to better reflect values ​​in the File Properties window in Windows Explorer. This is now the default behavior for new installations
  • Fallback values ​​for <img Author/>, <img Copyright/>, <img Subject/> and <img Title/> were added
  • Fixed an issue where jpeg metadata was being extracted multiple times
  • Added “Test Name” button to menu when “Auto Test” is turned off

  • Audio-based tags and columns have been renamed from ID3 or ID3/MP3 to Audio. The old tag names continue to work for backwards compatibility
  • <dirname></dirname> Tag renamed to <foldername></foldername> for more consistency in naming. The old tag names continue to work for backwards compatibility
  • Day <exe ProductVersion></exe> renamed to <exe Version></exe>. In addition, were <exe VersionMajor></exe> and <exe VersionMinor></exe> added.
  • Functionality to remove items through special properties in the right-click menu. New options include: “Remove Unchanged Items,” “Remove Unchecked Items,” and “Remove by Pattern.”
  • When using Mark by Pattern and counterparts, the patterns had to match exactly if no asterisk
  • was used for pattern comparison. This has been changed so that the asterisk is automatically added before and after the pattern if none is used.
  • Buttons to quickly show and hide the file information window

  • New information error code when the name collision rule changed the file name

  • New in Advanced Renamer 3.95 Version 2 from April 5th:

  • Fixed bug in “Remove by Template” when no asterisk was appended to the template.

    • When adding files, the last result field is automatically hidden.
  • Added button in status bar to toggle the final results panel

  • New in Advanced Renamer 3.95 Version 3 from April 8th:

  • Show data in the file notification area for the selected item when the closed area is opened

  • New in Advanced Renamer 3.95 Version 4 from April 15th:
  • Some controls did not scale correctly on high resolution screens.

When saving the list to a .txt file, the program now uses UTF-8 for encoding
