An iconic family franchise on Nintendo Switch 2?

Information recently gathered by insider Midori has revealed a possible official release of The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Remastered. As a reminder, originally, rumor has it that Big N discreetly presented its Nintendo Switch 2 with a 4K 60fps demo of BOTW, without loading time, to a few professionals. This potential remaster could be accompanied by ports such as those of FF7 Remake, Visions of Mana and a Bayonetta trilogy retyped with the specificities of the new machine. After this revelation on the hypothetical existence of Zelda Breath of the Wild Remastered, Midori has made another statement that could concern the Nintendo Switch 2.

“A game is in development at Nintendo under the code name Banquet. This is a title that appears to be in development at NDCube and the SmileBoom studio” he indicated on his X account. It's very enigmatic, but by digging, the ResetERA forums have already discovered valuable clues. NDCube is known for working on the Mario Party franchise, including Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars, while SmileBoom served as a supporting studio on these games. So is a new episode on the way? In any case, it is NDCube's strongest franchise, compared to their other Clubhouse Games productions: 51 Worldwide Classics and Everybody 1,2 Switch.

Or on the current console?

On the other hand, whether or not it is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive is less obvious. It is certain that a new Mario Party for the launch of the next console would be a great family cartridge to play. But it could also be one of the last Nintendo Switch titles. In June there will be a Nintendo Direct for AA/AA games. The manufacturer will speak “to announce the Switch software range for the second half of 2024, but this will not include the successor model. Do not mistake yourself ». See you next month to perhaps shed some light on this discovery.
