If you like action-adventure games and like the mechanics of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Shadow of the Colossus and Monster Hunter, you might like Yellow Brick Games' next creation.
Cry ! You will weave less!
It was to everyone's surprise that development studio Yellow Brick Games, led by Mike Laidlaw (a former creative director of the Dragon Age series), revealed Eternal Strands. In this third-person action-adventure game which is inspired by several titles already released (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for physical manipulations, Shadow of the Colossus for gigantic enemies), the player plays Brynn, “an intrepid young Weaver determined to reclaim the cultural home of her people” can we read on the page Steam software. In the program ? Magical abilities galore, a varied arsenal of enchanted weapons, monsters of varying sizes, an interactive environment that must be used to win battles, and an advanced system of elements (fire, ice, etc.). When it comes to exploration, Brynn will be able to climb different surfaces and will also be able to use her abilities to create her own paths.

In terms of its gameplay, Eternal Strands relies on systems that Yellow Brick Games considers “revolutionary”, with fire that spreads, cold that freezes but above all destruction in real time. By combining abilities, it is for example possible to throw flaming tree trunks at enemies. “Smash nearby trees to block the fire, or channel raw telekinetic force to rip massive rocks from the ground” we read. The fights, which we imagine are numerous, should adapt to the player's style thanks to various parameters. “Block attacks with a wall of magical ice, unleash waves of flame with a massive two-handed blade, or throw enemies off a cliff with brute force” specifies the official press release.
Using the power of ice to immobilize the limbs of the titans is one of the things that Eternal Strands will allow. The developers assure that the physics system will reward players' creativity in exploration and combat. We are waiting to see! Eternal Strands, developed by Yellow Brick Games, currently has no specific date. It is nevertheless announced for a vague 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
