Gaming is mainstream, every furniture store already knows that. Ikea will soon have a flexible gadget in its range that has been developed specifically for the needs of gamers. It is a matter of …

An easel for the television

… the TV stand YXSTABY. A holder for small to medium-sized televisions that offers plenty of additional storage space and is intended to keep things tidy. In the art world, comparable tripods (for paintings) are also called “easels”.

Shelf at the back

The back is rarely seen in practice. Like a shelf with two shelves, it offers enough space for accessories and technology. For example, remote controls, controllers or, as seen here, a large games console such as a PS5 or an Xbox Series X.

Also useful without a console

YXSTABY can also be used without gaming equipment. Even in households without a console, the piece of furniture could bring a breath of fresh air into the living room. The fixable castors on the feet of the steel frame enable flexible installation.

Subtle wood look

The large level below is chipboard with melamine foil. A real wood panel would probably have increased the price, because Ikea charges a manageable price for YXSTABY 99.99 euros on (view at Ikea). A comparable stand (with less storage space) from the Ecotiny brand costs 119 euros on Amazon, but there are also significantly cheaper solutions.

Maximum TV size: 55 inches

YXSTABY measures 137 centimeters wide. According to the assembly instructions (link to PDF), only televisions with screen diagonals of 32.2 to a maximum of 55 inches be attached. So if you have a 4K giant in your gaming room, you can’t use the holder with it – and you have to hope that Ikea will one day bring a larger version onto the market.

Developed with Xbox

Carl Ledbetter (Head of Design at Xbox) and Lukas Bazle (Designer at Ikea) are the designer duo behind the products in the YXSTABY collection, which also includes a stool and a cushion. The TV holder is from October 1, 2026 available in furniture stores. There are only two somewhat boring frame colors to choose from: black and white.
