4K/30 FPS and 1440p/60 FPS – Details of The Elder Scrolls Online graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series

ZeniMax Online has released technical details for the nextgen version of The Elder Scrolls Online for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The developers announced that the new consoles will have two graphics modes: Quality and Performance.

Quality mode on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5:

  • Native 4K
  • 30 frames per second
  • The quality of the shadows is the same as with the graphics settings “Ultra”
  • Texture quality as with “High” graphics settings
  • Increased draw range
  • Shading LSAO and SSGI
  • Anti-aliasing TAA
  • The quality of reflection of objects as with the graphics settings “Medium”
  • Depth of field “Round bokeh”

Quality Mode on Xbox Series S:

  • 1440p native resolution
  • 30 frames per second
  • The quality of the shadows is the same as with the graphics settings “Ultra”
  • Texture quality as with “High” graphics settings
  • Increased draw range
  • Shading LSAO and SSGI
  • Anti-aliasing TAA
  • The quality of reflection of objects as with the graphics settings “Medium”
  • Depth of field “Round bokeh”

The developers noted that in quality mode, the TESO version for the Xbox Series S differs only in resolution.

Performance Mode on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5:

  • 1440p native resolution
  • 60 frames per second
  • The quality of the shadows is the same as with the graphics settings “Ultra”
  • Texture quality as with “High” graphics settings
  • Increased draw range
  • Shading LSAO and SSGI
  • Anti-aliasing TAA
  • The quality of reflection of objects as with the graphics settings “Medium”
  • Depth of field “Round bokeh”

Performance Mode on Xbox Series S:

  • 1080p native resolution
  • 60 frames per second
  • Shadow quality as with “Medium” graphics settings
  • Texture quality as with “High” graphics settings
  • Standard draw range
  • Shading SSAO
  • Anti-aliasing TAA
  • Reflection of objects is disabled
  • Normal depth of field

In this case, on the Series S, some settings have been lowered to achieve a smooth 60 FPS. In addition, on all platforms, depending on the location, the quality of the reflections will change – where there is more water, it is higher, and in other places, it is lower.

The enhanced The Elder Scrolls Online launches on PS5 and Xbox Series on June 8.
