4,000 speed cameras in Sweden by 2030. Will save lives.

P4 Halland reports that the number of speed cameras has doubled in the last ten years. According to Eva Lundberg, coordinator at the Swedish Transport Administration, the primary purpose of the speed cameras is not to stop speeders, but simply to save lives.

The number of speed cameras will continue to increase around Sweden and the idea is that around 200 new ones will be set up every year. The Swedish Transport Administration aims to have around 4,000 cameras on Swedish roads by 2030.
