Along with the iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 updates, Apple has released iOS 15.7.4 and iPadOS 15.7.4, which are available for users of older devices who cannot upgrade to the latest software. For those with older iPhones or iPads, it’s important to download this software as soon as possible because it includes important security fixes.
According to Apple’s update notes, it fixes a long list of vulnerabilities, including a known WebKit threat that is being actively exploited. The full corrected and list of “patches” can be found in a special document.
Please note that iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 users should not be concerned about this vulnerability as it has been fixed in iOS 16.3.1. The update also fixes other WebKit vulnerabilities that were not actively exploited, as well as fixes security issues in the Calendar, Camera, Latitude and other applications.
iOS 15.7.4 and iPadOS 15.7.4 are available for all iPhone 6S models, all iPhone 7 models, iPhone SE 1st generation, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4th generation, and iPod touch 7th generation.
